Position Summary
IHI has partnered with the World Health Organization and SIKIKA to implement a study bearing the title: Community and Provider driven Social Accountability Intervention (CaPSAI) in Mbeya City, Chunya District, Iringa Municipality and Iringa District, Tanzania. The objective of the study is to show how a social accountability process in the context of Family Planning (FP) programs/services influences contraceptive uptake and use.
To accomplish this study, the Institute is looking for suitably qualified personnel to fill the posts of Field Interviewers in the CaPSAI study. The duration of the work is two months from October 1, 2018 to November 30, 2018. Successful candidates will be posted to various working stations as follows:
Chunya District – Makongolosi, Matundasi and Upendo health facilities
Mbeya City Council – Itenda, Itensa, Ituha, Iyunga, Kiwanja Mpaka health facilities
Iringa Municipal Council – Ipogolo, Mariestopes, Mkwawa, Ngome health facilities
Iringa Rural District – Kalenga, Kimande, Migori and Kitwiru health facilities
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct interviews with the selected type of interviewees according to the type of tool(s) allocated to you.
Ensure the availability of necessary equipment for data collection.
Responsible for safe keeping, maintenance and the return of project equipment rent to you for the purpose of the survey.
Collect information using tablets.
Ensure protection, rights, safety and well-being of the study participants.
Ensure the study is done according to the research ethical guidelines.
Ensure that participant’s privacy and confidentiality are maintained.
Communicate with other study staff regularly at scheduled meetings and participate actively in all meetings.
Retain high level of public and community support and trust, e.g. in relation to research ethics and effective communication.
Respond to queries, concerns and issues raised by the Supervisors/Coordinator /Principal Investigator/Investigators.
Undertake any other tasks that the Supervisors shall reasonably require from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
Form Four/Six graduates, preferably with a certificate in community health, social sciences or related fields.
Prior field experience or work in public health projects will be an added advantage.
Competences
Ability to work successfully in a team.
Fluent in Swahili, literate in English.
Numeracy skills.
Interview skills – Moderation/facilitation.
Basic computer application skills.
Communication skills– oral and written.
Organizational – time management.
Listening skills.
Report writing skills.
Remuneration
