The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for responding to inquiries, scheduling volunteers, processing required paperwork, orientation and daily management of volunteers onsite and working with support staff (cooks, housekeepers, etc.) to ensure the volunteers’ stay is comfortable. The volunteer program hosts up to 60 medical volunteers each year. Additional duties include documenting volunteer experiences, providing administrative support to other departments, and helping with special projects/ data analysis. He or she must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (written and oral) and be hospitality oriented. A high level of computer literacy is also important.

Requirements:
• Minimum commitment of 1 year (2 years preferred)
• Start date of 5 January 2019 (earlier start date if possible)
• Excellent written and spoken fluency in English (Swahili fluency a plus)
• High degree of computer literacy, especially Excel
• One to two years relevant experience in a developing country preferred
• Bachelors degree required
Compensation Package:
• $500 per month living stipend (paid in US dollars)
• Air fare travel allowance for each year of employment (up to $2,000 USD)
• Health insurance (major medical) for term of service
• Self-contained, private room on campus
• Meals, internet and housekeeping support
